Makeup Dupes

Before I was working full time and earning my own money, I couldn't afford high end makeup brands. I used, and still do use, a lot of these products (all under £10) and with so many great dupes, why splurge when you can definitely save!

 1. Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge (£5.99) vs Beauty Blender (£16) - The Beauty Blender is possibly the most raved about beauty tool out there. Both these products should be used damp and both of them expand in relatively even proportions. While they both come with a pointed end, the Real Techniques Miracle Sponge has a flat side while the Beauty Blender has a rounded one. For larger areas of my face I prefer the Real Techniques Sponge as I find it takes far less time than when I use the Beauty Blender and for almost half the price, this is definitely a great alternative.

2. Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation (£8.99) vs Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation (£26.50) - The Benefit foundation is a great medium coverage foundation and I really like the finish. The only thing that put me off was the colour range. I found it pretty difficult to get a perfect match and found that the colour oxidizes quite a bit once it's on your face. The Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation is not only a great dupe, but I found the colour range to be better for olive skin tones like myself.

3. L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara (£8.49) vs Diorshow (£25.50) -  I mentioned this mascara in my Top 3 favourite drugstore mascara post. It has the same tapered wand as the Diorshow and I don't find it to be anywhere near as flaky when it dries. Not only cheaper, but better!

4. No 7 Instant Radiance Highlighter (£9.95) vs Benefit Watts Up Highlighter (£24.50) - Benefit Watts Up has quickly become a favourite in most peoples makeup collection, but No 7 instant radiance highlighter is a lot more affordable and pretty much does the same thing! It has a rounded applicator as opposed to Benefits flat one, is slightly more champagne in colour but still offers the same beautiful glow

5. Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eye Liner (£7.99) vs Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eye Liner (£18.50) - The Maybelline liner is long lasting and doesn't fade. I find it is a creamier, wetter consistency compared to the Bobbi Brown one. Don't get me wrong, the Bobbi Brown liner is a great product, but mines dried out before I'd finished it and at £18.50, it's not a product that I can keep affording to replace.
