Essie Nails
May was a pretty expensive month for me with trips away, nights out and a handful of unexpected bills to pay! So in a bid to save some extra money, I decided to go back to at home manicures. Now I've never been one of those girls who constantly has her nails done but I do like a nice manicure every now and again. So I popped down to my local Boots store to pick up a few new spring colours and spruce up my nail collection.
I'd never tried Essie before but I had heard great things about them and after picking up a few bottles from their extensive collection at Boots, I'm hooked! The first shade I bought was 'muchi muchi', a cute chiffon pink which compliments any skin tone. I've never been a huge fan of pink nails but this colour is gorgeous! It went on beautifully and dried completely in around 20-30 mins. Of course, I couldn't just buy the one nail polish so I went back in and bought 'petal pushers' and 'splash of grenadine'. Petal pushers is a refreshingly slate grey polish with subtle red and blue undertones, perfect for spring! Splash of grenadine is my favourite out of the bunch! This fun magenta pink is irresistible and sure to put a spring in your step! I'm a sucker for any nail polish gift sets and couldn't resist the 'Anchors Aweigh' duo. The set contains 'naughty nautical' a brilliant blue-green nail polish and 'bikini so teeny' a shimmery cornflower blue. I adored all the colours and the polish names are so darn cute!
The individual polishes retail at £7.99 and I paid £12.99 for the duo set. Unfortunately, I didn't add a base or top coat to my nails meaning the colours didn't last long so next time I will definitely add these to really test their longevity. Overall, I loved these colours, they dried quickly and the colour range to choose from is stunning. If you're looking for an alternative to salon manicures I'd definitely recommend heading down to your local boots store and giving Essie a try... your nails will have never looked so fun!
