Living in the north of Scotland, I don't often have to worry about my makeup sweating off in the heat, but recently it's been surprisingly humid so I thought I'd share a few tips on how to get your makeup to last all day so you can enjoy the sun and stay looking fab!
Primer - Applying a primer under your foundation or bb cream is a god-send way of combating shine and providing a smooth base on which to apply your face products. Primers are used under our face products to help them last longer - a must in hot and humid weather! A great primer to try for a flawless, matte looking face that lasts all day is the Benefit POREfessional: Matte Rescue
Waterproof Mascara - Swap your favourite regular mascara for a waterproof version. This will help prevent any embarrassing raccoon eye moments! My favourite is the Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara
Setting Spray - Using a setting spray after you've finished applying your makeup will help make it last far longer. I like to use it after I've applied my foundation as I find I have to touch up my makeup less during the day. I use it again once all my makeup is completely done. I love the Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray
Tinted Moisturiser - For days when applying foundation seems just too much hassle in the heat, try changing to a tinted moisturiser instead. A little bit of tinted moisturiser and concealer is all you really need in the hot weather. Makeup likes to move around a lot when the temperature heats up so the best way to combat creasing is to wear less of it.
Set Your Brows - To keep your brows on fleek even in the most humid conditions, it's essential to set your brows using a gel. My favourite is the Clear Brow Gel By Anastasia Beverly Hills. Your brows won't move!
Blot Your Face - Keep some blotting sheets handy in your purse so that you're ready to eliminate shine any time it rears its head.
Gel Eyeliner - Using a gel eyeliner instead of a pencil liner will help that fierce wing last a lot longer and won't smudge as easily.
Matte Lips - To make any lipstick look matte, dab a little translucent powder over the top. This will help prevent any smudging throughout the day.
